Description

The Department of Neurobiology is seeking a motivated Lab Technicianto support innovative neuroscience research investigating the neural mechanisms underlying decision-making and brain function. The successful candidate will assist with neurogenomics research using animal models and postmortem human and comparative tissue samples, including brain tissue collection, sectioning, and analysis using techniques such as immunohistochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridization (ISH), and immunoblotting. Responsibilities will also include nuclei isolation and single-cell genomics library preparation, animal colony maintenance (including tracking, breeding, and colony management), research data and specimen tracking, database management, and preparation of chemical solutions and reagents to support laboratory experiments.

Hourly range: $30.12-$35.92

Qualifications

Required:

  • Broad theoretical and practical knowledge of standard chemical methods.
  • Technical expertise and working knowledge of neuroanatomy, biochemistry and genomics.
  • Basic functional understanding of the research concerns related to gene expression in the brain.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience or training.
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
