Contributes to building and assembling diverse standard and customized gas handling equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with hand tools in a clean work environment. LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to read product specifications, as well as assembly drawings and assemble products per those drawings. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. This position requires the ability to assemble components into finished assemblies requiring 150 ft pounds of torque. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. COMPUTER SKILLS - Basic computer skills and ability to perform common tasks such as e-mail communication, read/write data to spreadsheets, generate quality certifications from standard forms, enter data from various documents to shared databases. ________________________ Benefits We care about and support our Airgas Families.
