This position is intended for experienced perioperative nurses. Because candidates are expected to have prior OR experience, Periop 101 is not included with this role. Instead, nurses will complete a competency-based orientation developed by the UVA Health Main OR Education Team. Orientation is individualized based on each nurse's previous experience, demonstrated competencies, and assigned specialty. Clinical PracticeThis role is ideal for a capable clinician who is committed to expanding knowledge and refining clinical expertise. The successful candidate consistently provides high-quality, evidence-based care for complex surgical patients while serving as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team. Nurses in this role actively seek and incorporate feedback, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and begin developing leadership skills through mentoring and collaboration. Apply today and become part of the exceptional team at UVA Health's Main Operating Room. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. Experience: 1 year of relevant experience. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. When RN Clinician 2-OR has no previous OR experience he/she must successfully complete and pass final examination of the AORN Periop 101 Core Curriculum program within six months of hire. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping; Repetitive motion: passing instruments, lifting instrument sets. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, radiation, chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $41.50 - $55.12 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
