JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Position Location: Penn State Extension- Lancaster County, 1383 Arcadia Rd, Rm 140, Lancaster, PA 17601-3184 Position Goal: Support the Lancaster County 4-H team in providing high quality positive youth development program experiences for existing as well as new youth audiences. The 4-H Lancaster County Summer Assistant will be responsible to the 4-H Educator. Position Responsibilities: Support the development of new STEM 4-H programs across all delivery modes (school, after school, day camps, clubs) Enhance program quality through training and support for all 4-H volunteers with particular emphasis on new volunteers in 4-H clubs in transition. Work with the Lancaster County 4-H team to plan, deliver and evaluate local 4-H educational programs and supporting activities such as contests and fundraisers. Assist the 4-H Extension Educator in reaching new audiences in accordance with the Penn State University Affirmative Action Policy. Participate in county, regional or state events as appropriate. Provide support at 4-H events by recording registration, chaperoning, conducting workshops and assisting with the management of shows and contests. Monitor children and be responsible for the whereabouts, supervision, and safety of all children registered/in attendance for the program. Support 4-H program marketing and promotion for outreach to new youth audiences across Lancaster County. Submit work time and travel reports for reimbursement by due date. Basic Skills Required:

Time Requirements: August through December, 10-15 hours/week (negotiable) Salary: $17.00 per hour for 4-H STEM Program Assistant mileage for travel reimbursed BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties.
