Job Description

JMT Technology Group seeks an Asset Management Specialist to support asset management solutions for government and infrastructure clients. The ideal candidate is a collaborative self-starter with experience managing complex asset management initiatives, engaging stakeholders, analyzing asset data, supporting technology-enabled solutions, and communicating effectively with clients, project teams, and senior leaders.


Compensation for this position is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Support senior asset management staff in delivering asset management plans, programs, lifecycle strategies, and related solutions across multiple infrastructure sectors.
  • Lead and support client engagement activities, including discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, meetings, and requirements-gathering efforts.
  • Provide program, project, and task management support for asset management initiatives, including coordination across multidisciplinary teams and client organizations.
  • Document, validate, and manage business requirements, workflows, use cases, process maps, configuration specifications, and requested system enhancements.
  • Analyze, interpret, and visualize asset data using Excel and related tools to identify trends, relationships, risks, and insights that support decision-making.
  • Support data governance, asset hierarchy development, inventory management, inspections, preventive maintenance, reporting, dashboards, and reliability-related practices.
  • Advise clients on asset management best practices, lifecycle principles, work management, contractor management, and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Support asset management initiatives for both horizontal and vertical infrastructure, including water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, stormwater networks, treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, storage tanks, wells, buildings, mechanical/electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and process equipment.
  • Support EAM, CMMS, and related technology initiatives through requirements definition, solution design, configuration, testing, implementation, and user adoption activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, data engineers, developers, subject matter experts, and client teams to deliver solutions that meet business and technical objectives.
  • Prepare technical documentation, presentations, proposal content, and other client-facing materials, and clearly communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities concurrently while meeting deadlines in a dynamic client environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation and presentations for public, client, and project settings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams, and ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to client sites.
  • Experience developing strategic asset management plans for public agencies.
  • Knowledge of transportation and government business models, processes, and operating environments.
  • Familiarity with asset lifecycle practices for transit, transportation, water/wastewater, facilities, and related infrastructure assets.
  • Familiarity with international and national asset management requirements, practices, and standards.

Preferred Skills



  • Project management experience, including developing and monitoring scope, schedule, budget, progress reports, and invoices for projects from initiation through completion.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and work effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, engineering, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience working and communicating across diverse teams.
  • Minimum of 4 years of asset management experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience leading projects for public or private sector clients.
  • Minimum of 4 years of stakeholder engagement and outreach experience.


Preferred Experience



  • Master's degree in business, public administration, engineering, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of project management experience.
  • Institute of Asset Management Certificate.
  • PMP certification.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a hybrid setting within a general office environment and remotely. Work is generally sedentary but may require occasional standing, walking, and travel to client sites. Lighting and temperature are adequate, with no hazardous or unpleasant office conditions caused by noise, dust, or similar factors.
