Position Summary Position Summary The Shipping Specialist is responsible for supporting daily shipping operations, including preparing shipments, processing shipping documentation, coordinating freight pickup, and assisting with warehouse activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, customers, and transportation providers to ensure accurate and timely shipment of customer orders. Essential Responsibilities - Assist with pulling stock orders for parcel and LTL shipments. - Pick orders systematically to begin preparation of shipment documentation. - Prepare Bills of Lading, packing lists, and other required shipping documents. - Release sales orders for shipment. - Utilize Precision software for LTL and parcel shipping activities. - Reserve stock orders as needed. - Contact truck lines to arrange collection for customer-assigned orders. - Enter order information into customer websites or portals for order collection. - Assist with pallet wrapping as needed. - Load and unload trucks as required. - Code orders to update LISC. - Perform monthly cycle counts of warehouse, shipping, or receiving locations. - Safely operate warehouse equipment and obtain forklift certification as required. - Support general warehouse, shipping, and receiving activities as needed. - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. - Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operational standards. Qualifications Required Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent. - Computer proficiency. - Ability to operate a forklift or obtain forklift certification. - Ability to effectively communicate and interact with headquarters personnel, buyers, trucking companies, coworkers, leads, and managers. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing and documentation. - Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Preferred Qualifications - Oracle experience. - Tel-net experience. - Microsoft Office knowledge, including Excel and Outlook. - Previous shipping and receiving experience. - Experience with parcel and LTL shipping processes. Physical Requirements - Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift as required in a warehouse environment. - Ability to load, unload, wrap, and move materials safely. - Ability to operate or train to operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts. Work Environment This position operates in a warehouse and shipping environment and may require interaction with office personnel, warehouse team members, transportation providers, and customers. The role requires adherence to safety procedures and the ability to manage multiple shipping priorities throughout the workday.
