Job Description
Hoist Operator - Cedar Falls, IA
Pay: $18.50/hour
Shift: Day Shift - 5:00am to 1:00pm Monday through Friday The Hoist Operator is responsible for safely loading and unloading parts on the paint line while ensuring product quality, accurate part tracking, and adherence to established work instructions and safety procedures. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow, preventing defects, and supporting overall manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities
Operate hoist equipment safely and wear all required plant PPE. Inspect materials, parts, racks, and containers for damage or defects and report concerns to the Line Leader. Load and unload parts according to work instructions and production requirements. Verify part tags, record load bar numbers, and accurately scan and track parts using the production system. Notify the Line Leader immediately when parts are identified for 100% inspection and await Quality approval before loading. Maintain proper part spacing requirements and stop the line if safety, quality, or process standards cannot be met. Follow lifting guidelines and seek assistance when handling parts over 40 pounds or when weight is unknown. Report unsafe conditions, defective equipment, mixed parts, incorrect part numbers, quantity discrepancies, paint non-conformities, or damaged containers. Assist in other production line positions and perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Leader.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. -
Ability to safely operate hoist equipment and follow manufacturing work instructions. -
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. -
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. -
Good communication skills and willingness to seek guidance when needed.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. -
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds manually and utilize proper lifting techniques. -
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment.
Safety Expectations
Maintain a safe work environment by following all plant safety procedures, using required PPE, reporting hazards immediately, and stopping operations when unsafe conditions exist.
