The Boise office presents a unique opportunity to help establish Coffman's long-term presence in the Idaho market while leveraging the resources and expertise of a nationally recognized multidisciplinary engineering firm. Team members will have the opportunity to make a visible impact on office growth, client relationships, and future staffing decisions.

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum 10 years of experience, who wants to join the team helping establish Coffman's long-term presence in Idaho. You'll have the opportunity to shape client relationships, mentor future hires, influence office culture, and become a key part of our regional growth strategy. This position is ideal for an engineer who wants increasing responsibility, client interaction, project leadership opportunities, and the ability to help shape a growing office. The Career opportunities you will have:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be a technical and business leader who will help shape the future of our Boise office. The right individual will work closely with the electrical department and other engineering disciplines, establish and strengthen client relationships, support business development initiatives, identify project opportunities, and contribute to Coffman's marketing efforts and expanding client base. The successful candidate will collaborate with leadership to help guide the office's strategic direction, foster a strong office culture, and work both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams. This position offers opportunities for leadership, career advancement, and exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects.

  • This individual will perform the following functions:
    • Lead multidisciplinary project teams to successfully deliver electrical engineering projects.
    • Conduct site visits to gather and verify existing electrical system information.
    • Collaborate with owners, clients, and design partners to develop coordinated design solutions.
    • Provide technical leadership and quality oversight for electrical engineering designs.
    • Guide teams through complex design decisions and technical challenges.
    • Mentor and develop engineers and designers.
    • Prepare fee-based and qualifications-based proposals.

You'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects spanning advanced manufacturing, data centers, healthcare facilities, higher education campuses, commercial developments, industrial facilities, federal and Department of Defense projects, and critical power systems.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills, or the ability to quickly develop them.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering accurate, high-quality work.

Requirements Include:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • PE license required
  • Experience managing teams and leading projects.
  • A history of direct client interaction and client support.
  • Experience with industry software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Knowledge and experience with the International Building Code (IBC), National Electrical Code, and US design standards
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, leadership, and time management skills
  • Experience working as part of a multi-discipline design team
  • Experience with electrical studies (SKM, E-Tap, Easy Power preferred)
  • Experience in designing electrical systems for healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, federal/DoD, science and technology, and/or data center projects, preferred
