The Painter Chipper prepares and finishes individual components and completed Roots Blower units by washing, filing, masking, chipping, and applying paint with spray or hand-painting equipment. This role works side by side with the Shipping Carpenter Loader to ensure finished products meet quality requirements and are ready for packaging and shipment. Collective Bargaining Agreement language applies to this position. Responsibilities: * Load and unload units on the paint line and prepare components and completed units through washing, filing, masking, chipping, and related surface-preparation activities. * Review tags and documentation to identify special requirements, coating instructions, and painting specifications. * Apply paint and coatings using spray guns, brushes, and other approved equipment in accordance with quality and EHS requirements. * Clean and maintain spray and hand-painting equipment, change paint-booth filters, and maintain the paint booth in accordance with EHS regulations. * Perform in-process quality checks and accurately complete paint logs and all required Production, Quality, and EHS documentation. * Record labor transactions and material counts accurately, either manually or electronically. * Transport and position units, parts, supplies, and painting materials; select appropriate rigging and use hand or pallet jacks as required. * Maintain a clean and orderly work area, return equipment and chemicals to designated storage, dispose of waste properly, and follow all plant rules and safe work practices.
