Overview

The supervisor is accountable and responsible for the daily operations and all staff who are assigned to manage the Carle Financial Assistance Program and other uninsured discount programs. Supervises operations of the department to ensure high quality and cost effective department performance in accordance with organizational goals and priorities. This position is responsible for knowing all of the job functions under the Accounts Receivables Representative positions that report to this position and must be able to perform those functions with efficiency and high quality at any time. The primary goals of this position are ensuring efficient management of the Carle Financial Assistance Program and other uninsured discount programs, enhancing the patient experience, preventing aging of receivables beyond the acceptable time frame and maintaining strong vendor partnerships. Accountable for personnel related duties that include job performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, payroll, productivity reporting, quality assurance, continuing education, overall job performance and enforcing required rules and regulations. In collaboration with manager, responsible for the hiring and termination processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains ongoing knowledge of all job functions performed in the areas being supervised as well as maintains a thorough working knowledge of all the systems utilized to perform the work in the areas being supervised.
  • Monitors daily department flow, ensures appropriate staffing, optimal productivity and quality levels of the staff compared against pre-determined standards.
  • Prepares and analyzes management summary reports and communicates findings to the appropriate parties.
  • Assists with the collection of data needed for annual CBISA reporting.
  • Creates and manages staff schedules, completes time card review and approval and manages paid leave requests from staff.
  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions for hires, promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures. Initiates and completes staff performance evaluations.
  • Ensures staff members are adequately trained and are competent to perform all required job tasks.
  • Participates personally and ensures staff participate in all continuing education or certification activities required.
  • Handles quality assurance/compliance matters and escalated account issues as required and expected per policy and Code of Conduct.
  • In collaboration with manager, conducts regularly scheduled meetings with staff, facilitates and collaborates on initiatives within the department, enterprise wide and with external entities.
  • In addition, assists employees in solving work related matters.
  • Endorses and performs all required tasks associated with the Carle Experience such as, but not limited to, regular rounding with staff and completion of all reports needed to have meaningful and productive monthly meetings with the manager.
  • In collaboration with the manager and director, prepares and follows annual budgets.
  • Partners with Accounting and Systems as necessary to ensure accurate tracking, capturing and reporting of data points related to the Carle Financial Assistance Program.
  • Supports manager by interpreting and analyzing financial data to identify and monitor performance and establish benchmarks for the department. Acts as a resource and mentor to others.
  • Creates, updates and maintains all department policies and procedures to ensure best practices are enforced and adhered to.
  • Maintains strong relationships with vendor partners and members of the Community Coalition group.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $24.28per hour - $40.55per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
