What to Expect
As a Senior Construction Project Manager, you will lead complex, large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. You will oversee all phases of project delivery, from planning and design coordination through construction execution and closeout, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. In this position, your work closely with design partners, procurement, subcontractors, Tesla Self-Perform, and key stakeholders, leading the central role that keeps the team aligned. This role is critical to Tesla's continued expansion and operational excellence.
What You'll Do
- Direct management of construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans
- Monitor project performance against KPIs (schedule, cost, quality, safety) and implement corrective actions
- Lead site safety initiatives, ensure compliance with regulations and Tesla standards, and conduct regular site inspections and quality audits
- Manage contractor relationships, procurement, and subcontractor performance
- Execute project closeout procedures (final inspections, punch lists, documentation) and mentor junior construction managers to drive continuous improvement
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- 8+ years of experience in construction project management, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead role
- Proven track record managing large, complex construction projects ($50M+) on time and within budget
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, and project management software
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, Procore, Bluebeam or similar)
