Puyenpa is seeking a Senior Security Specialist - Technical Writer for an upcoming proposal supporting the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Joint Program Office (JPO) Security Services Contract. This position provides senior-level technical writing, editing, and documentation support across multiple security disciplines, ensuring the development of accurate, compliant, and executive-quality products that support program security operations, stakeholder coordination, and mission execution.
The successful candidate will apply extensive knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) writing standards, staffing processes, and security-related documentation requirements to develop, review, edit, and maintain a wide range of technical, operational, and administrative products supporting F-35 security functions. This position will be located in Arlington, VA. and is structured as a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role. An active DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Required (SAR) eligibility/access is required.

This is a proposal position and is contingent upon contract award, customer approval, and final staffing authorization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, edit, proofread, and maintain professional-quality security documentation, reports, briefings, policy memorandums, correspondence, and decision support materials.
  • Support security program activities spanning personnel security, physical security, information security, industrial security, operations security, international security, and related security disciplines.
  • Ensure documentation complies with established DoD writing standards, staffing guidance, format requirements, and security policies.
  • Coordinate with government personnel, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to gather information and develop accurate, timely deliverables.
  • Prepare executive-level correspondence, briefing materials, white papers, concept papers, staffing packages, standard operating procedures, and program documentation.
  • Review products for clarity, accuracy, grammar, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Track document status throughout staffing and review cycles and incorporate comments from stakeholders.
  • Support development of operational guidance, security procedures, and program documentation to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Assist in preparing materials for senior leadership reviews, meetings, and decision-making forums.
  • Maintain document control processes and ensure proper handling and protection of sensitive information.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline; OR
  • Bachelor's degree plus four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a Master's degree.
  • Minimum of ten years of relevant experience supporting technical writing, security programs, government operations, acquisition, or related mission areas.
  • Senior-level experience performing work related to technical writing, documentation management, security programs, or a related functional area.
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD writing and staffing guidance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in editing, proofreading, and correcting documentation.
  • Ability to independently develop, coordinate, and deliver complex technical and administrative documentation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior government personnel and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Required (SAR) eligibility/access is required.
  • Will be required to sign Letter of Intent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs.
  • Experience supporting major defense weapon system programs.
  • Familiarity with F-35 Joint Program Office organizations and processes.
  • Experience developing executive-level briefings and decision-support materials.
  • Knowledge of security program management, policy development, or compliance activities.
  • Experience coordinating documents through formal government staffing processes.
