Description
Position at First Business Bank

Financial Advisor | Private Wealth

Launch Your Wealth Management Career with an Established Client Base

Work Model: This role is onsite at our Madison, WI OR Brookfield location.

More Than a Bank. A Comprehensive Private Wealth Team.

While banking is part of our name, First Business Bank Private Wealth is much more than traditional banking. Our Private Wealth team brings together financial planning, investment management, trust and estate administration, and private banking to help clients manage their complete financial lives.

Our approach is highly collaborative. Financial Advisors work alongside experienced investment, trust, financial planning, and banking professionals to understand the client's full financial picture and deliver coordinated solutions. The goal is not simply to sell a financial product. It's to build long-term relationships and help clients make thoughtful decisions about their investments, retirement, wealth accumulation, estate and legacy goals, liquidity needs, and other financial priorities.

An Advisor Role With a Head Start

First Business Bank is seeking a Financial Advisor to join our Private Wealth team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated financial professional with 1-3 years of experience who wants to take the next step in their advisory career.

And unlike many early-career advisor opportunities, you won't be starting from zero.

You'll step into an established portfolio of Emerging Wealth clients and have access to additional client opportunities, giving you a foundation from which to develop relationships and grow assets. Rather than spending your first years solely trying to build a book from scratch, you'll be able to focus on learning your clients' goals, providing meaningful financial guidance, and identifying opportunities to expand those relationships.

You'll also have the advantage of working within a team-based Private Wealth model, partnering with specialists who bring expertise across investments, financial planning, trust and estate administration, and banking.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Manage and develop relationships with an existing portfolio of Emerging Wealth clients.
  • Conduct financial reviews and help clients develop strategies for investing, retirement, education funding, wealth accumulation, and other financial goals.
  • Proactively engage clients and prospects within an established book of business to identify needs, deepen relationships, and grow assets under management.
  • Recommend appropriate investment, advisory, retirement, and insurance solutions based on each client's objectives and financial situation.
  • Partner with Private Wealth colleagues across investment management, financial planning, trust and estate administration, and private banking to deliver coordinated solutions for clients.
  • Build additional relationships through client referrals, internal partnerships, networking, and community involvement.
  • Develop the skills, knowledge, and relationships needed to grow into an accomplished wealth management professional.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-3 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, banking, brokerage, or investment advisory.
  • Active FINRA Series 6 and Series 66 licenses required.
  • Strong relationship-building and client service skills.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and conducting client outreach.
  • Interest in financial planning, investments, and wealth management.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and grow existing client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
