Overview

THE OPPORTUNITY

The National College of Education (NCE) at National Louis University (NLU) is pleased to announce a search for a Full-Time 10-Month Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Educational Leadership program and solicits nominations and expressions of interest (rank will depend on experience).

We seek a colleague with extensive methodological expertise. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience at the school and/or district level. This position includes supporting doctoral-level research with a focus on program evaluation. The successful candidate will have expertise in research project design and using data analysis for PK-16 improvement.

A demonstrated research agenda and productivity appropriate to the field of educational leadership with demonstrated skill in research methodologies is expected. Priority will be given to individuals with research in the area of principal and/or teacher evaluation systems, evidence-based decision-making, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, or classroom, school level and district assessment.

The position is within a dynamic and fun-loving College of Education and is housed under the School of Educational Leadership Studies.

Essential Responsibilities

    Support research for educational professionals at the doctoral level
  • Monitor faculty dissertation loads
  • Track student progress towards completion
  • Teach/coordinate research methodology courses
  • Support principal and superintendent endorsement internships
  • Contribute to curriculum development and program improvement by collaborating with faculty in program and unit level evaluation, to develop program reports, assessment protocols, and cross disciplinary curriculum work
  • Advise Educational Leadership graduate students, including service on dissertation committees
  • Engage in an active program of scholarship related to these areas of expertise
  • Contribute to the Educational Leadership program development, management and partnership coordination
  • Contribute to institutional, community, state, and national service


Qualifications

Position qualifications include an earned doctorate Educational Leadership, or a related field, with experience in conducting applied research in classrooms/school settings, and higher education teaching experience commensurate with rank. Candidate should have at least three years of leadership experience.

Applicants with experience participating in and/or obtaining personnel preparation or research grants in this area would be viewed positively.

Faculty appointment will likely begin on September 1, 2024.
