Job Description
The Radiation Therapist is an individual who is certified in the appropriate disciplines of radiation therapy. They apply their knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the treatment of cancer, radiation biology, and radiation oncology techniques, in the performance of their duties. The radiation therapist accepts responsibility for administering a radiation oncologist's (physician) prescribed course of radiation therapy while providing patient care during treatment and maintaining treatment records. Radiation therapists also evaluate and assess treatment delivery components, evaluate and assess the daily physiologic and psychological responsiveness of the patient and ensure quality care for patients undergoing radiation therapy. They must be familiar with radiation safety and how it relates to employee, patient and general public. Responsibilities
