Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer (Facilities Electrical Design Engineer Staff III/IV) designs for support of the corporate development construction programs at owned, leased, and shared facilities.Work typically includes new buildings, renovations, and infrastructure renewal for The Aerospace Corporation.The Electrical Engineer shall develop conceptual design and associated cost estimates, develop scopes of work, and manage outside consultants to complete the project scope within budget and defined schedules.Project designs shall include minor and major building remodels consisting of wet and electronic laboratories, clean rooms, computer rooms, grounding, isolated power, collaboration and conference rooms, offices, kitchens, low voltage distribution, medium voltage electrical distribution, and other major infrastructure renewal projects.

Work Model

This position is a hybrid work model of 3+ days onsite, and offers partially remote the balance of the week, or as business conditions allow. This position is located at our El Segundo, CA campus.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provides engineering services for the electrical design of projects
  • Works as part of project team to create a conceptual plan and statement of work for new building or modification projects
  • Attends pre-construction meetings to emphasize any important electrical issues such as equipment lead time, power outages, electrical submittals, installation methods or special applications
  • Consults with the Safety Department on matters regarding code compliance
  • Provides electrical facilities engineering support to analyze and evaluate existing site and building power distribution and general systems to provide improvement to existing electrical systems
  • Forecasts future electrical needs

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Facilities Electrical Design Engineer Staff III:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Six or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with ladder control diagrams
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code and motor circuit design
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical power systems, theory, and analysis

In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Facilities Electrical Design Engineer Staff IV include:

  • 10 or more years of relevant experience

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$93,200 - $176,700 Pay Basis: Annual
