About the Job

The University of Minnesota's Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a licensed psychologist or therapist with a doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, PhD in Social Work, or PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy) for a clinical track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The position includes 0.80 clinical FTE for clinical care and 0.2 academic FTE for administrative, research, teaching, and service activities.

Candidates should have experience providing evidence-based psychotherapies for adult patients with serious mental illness, including, chronic suicidal ideation, substance use disorders, and/or history of trauma and chronic stress. The ideal candidate will have experience in a multidisciplinary setting, working with individual patients and families, and using group psychotherapy. Familiarity with all components of a Linehan-adherent DBT program, including individual DBT and coaching calls, group skills training, and the DBT consultation team for Clinicians is a strength. Additional or alternative training and expertise in trauma-focused therapies and family-oriented care are valued.

The department is focused on interprofessional collaboration, and faculty members will be involved in team-based care and individual work. There will be opportunities to supervise trainees at all levels and across disciplines. Clinical care will be provided at the UMMC Riverside Clinic, supporting clinical programming for adult patients with serious mental illnesses.

This is a unique opportunity to combine care delivery with education on effective outcomes and the development of care delivery systems. The faculty member in this role will exercise creativity in clinical care and clinical programming, teach and supervise outstanding trainees, and have the opportunity to be involved in research. The successful applicant will join an active and growing department of 72 highly collaborative and engaged faculty members. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* Graduate of an accredited doctoral training program

*Experience in providing evidenced-based psychotherapies for adults with serious mental illness.
* Licensed in Minnesota, or ability to obtain Minnesota Licensure.
* Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Training or experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and/or other Cognitive Behavioral Therapies for serious mental illness.
* Training or experience with trauma-focused treatment.
* Training or experience with family-oriented treatment.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range:

This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $55,000.

Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
