Job Description:

To maintain a clean, safe and orderly environment through the minor maintenance/repair of the physical structure and grounds.

Principle Responsibilities

  • General Cleaning.
    • Follows correct procedures when cleaning and disinfecting; walls, floors, ceilings, lights, vents, windows, fans.
    • Floor Care: Buffing, Waxing, Carpets, Auto Scrubbing and project clean up.
  • Maintains, Replaces and Repairs Minor Equipment.
    • Replace/repair minor equipment: which may include keyboard trays, replace casters (chairs, IV poles, carts), chairs, sleeper chairs, wood side chairs, night stands, over bed tables and shower/ towel bars, routine changing of ceiling tile, routine changing of light bulbs, light lenses, shades and blinds, safety strips, sharps containers, vinyl base board, floor and ceramic tile, oiling squeaky door hinges.
    • Assembles and moves office equipment as needed.
  • Equipment Repairs/ Vehicle Maintenance.
    • Sets up maintenance and repairs with local vendors.
    • Repairs and provides maintenance to Environmental and Building Services equipment.
    • Drives hospital vehicles in a safe manner.
    • Keeps all vehicles clean and in good safe working condition.
  • Grounds and Equipment Care.
    • Provide equipment repair and maintenance during all seasons.
    • Help with painting and office moves.
  • Clerical duties.
    • Stocks and delivers supplies.
    • Maintain department documents, which may include daily logs sheets, electronic work order program, inspection logs and floor care.
  • Safety and Maintenance
    • Ensuring safety of self and others through proper use and care of equipment and work site.
    • Keeping tools and equipment clean and in good working order.
    • Understands hazards to which they may be exposed and how to prevent harm to self and others from exposure to these hazards.
    • Storing equipment and tools properly after each use.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • 2 to 5 years of building care, grounds maintenance, or mechanical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment

Physical Demands

  • Heavy Work:
  • Lifting weightUp to 100 lbs. occasionally, Up to 50 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.90 to $24.82 per hour The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
